Quick Start: Your First 15 Minutes

A linear checklist to go from sign-up to your first optimization.

This is the fastest path from a new account to your first measured optimization. Each step links to a deeper guide if you need it.

1. Create your site

Go to Sites → Add Site. Give it a display name and the URL you want to work on (you can scope to a subfolder like /blog/). See Creating Your First Site.

2. Import your sitemap

In the setup wizard, paste your sitemap URL (usually https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml). OptimizeTrack imports your pages and fetches their titles. See Importing Your Sitemap.

3. Connect Google

Authorize Google and pick:

  • Your Search Console property — powers opportunities and collisions.
  • Your GA4 property — powers performance measurement.

See Connecting Search Console and Connecting GA4.

4. Pull your data

Run Poll Metrics so OptimizeTrack has recent clicks, impressions, positions, and sessions to analyze. See Refreshing Your Data.

5. Review your opportunities

Open Opportunities. OptimizeTrack ranks the pages with the most upside. Don't be surprised if the list is short — it's selective by design. See Understanding Opportunities.

6. Run your first optimization

Pick a page, send it to Optimize, and review the AI recommendations. Accept the ones you like, copy the content into your CMS, and mark it complete. See Submitting a Page.

7. Come back to measure

Outcome scores need time to accumulate (about four weeks of post-change data). Check back later on the Performance page. See Understanding Outcome Scores.

Tip: Don't optimize everything at once. Pick one or two high-confidence pages first so you can clearly attribute the results.
